Evelyn didn't look up, her eyes were trained on the ground, one hand on her head where she had hit it on the floor, wincing. Aubrey looked up, her whole facial expression changed and she smiled a huge one, and actually looked nice and friendly. In secret, Aubrey gave Evelyn another sharp pinch and Evelyn bit her tongue to avoid crying out. "You better shut up," she hissed at her. All Evelyn did was nod her head, not looking up. (Cont.).
Evelyn seemed to completely change, her happy smile were now a sad frown, she was sad and quiet, instead of bubbly and chatty.“Hey!” Mika repeated, moving forward and placing a hand on Evelyn’s shoulder. He gulped waiting for the older girl’s reaction even though he was so much taller, he still felt weary. Like a part of him could feel the fear in the young eyes.
The presence of Mika was completely forgotten as Evelyn stared at the ground, shuffling her feet and sniffling, trying hard not to cry.Mika realised he had held his breath the entire time, letting out a forced sigh he called out, his voice shaky because of what had happened.
“Hey!” He yelled, trying to project his voice firmly. He wasn’t too sure what he could do, but he knew a child shouldn’t be treated that way. A child should loved and cared for, not hurt or sworn at. Thoughts flooded into his mind, what if this happened on a daily basis? And was he going too private now, trying to stop it?
The teenage girl pulled her up by the back of her shirt. "Where the hell have you been?!" she said. "Let go of me Aubrey!" Evelyn protested, still stunned from her fall. "STOP IT! YOU'RE HURTING ME!" Aubrey pinched her arm sharply, earning a pained gasp from Evelyn. "Shut up! Don't you dare create a scene. We're going," Aubrey said. There were tears in Evelyn's eyes as she rubbed the sore spot where she was pinched, a bruise already forming. "No, leave me alone," she mumbled weakly. (Cont.).
There was fear and panic in her eyes and she looked around, but she knew she couldn't hide anymore when she heard the girl call and hurry her pace. "Evelyn?" the girl called, anger in her voice. Evelyn glanced at her and without a thought, she sprinted back, with the girl hot on her heels. She nearly reached Mika before she was pulled back roughly by her hair, she fell backwards and landed on the sidewalk, hitting her head. But she didn't hesitate to get back up, and recovered quickly. (Cont.).
The little girl turned around when she heard someone running, and stopped when he saw that it was the same man from the coffee store. She looked at him with a puzzled and innocent expression, wondering what he might want. But the little girl turned around just in time to see a pretty and attractive teenage girl walk down the street, not spotting her yet. She immediately panicked and frantically looked around, looking for somewhere to hide. (Cont.).

A small girl all alone in a big city. Was it really safe for her? She had no idea what the world was like. She stuffed her hands into her coat pocket. She was young and so innocent. -TiffMika stiffened a little, watching the girl walk away and almost fading into the distance. A part of him longed to know, but another part of him told him to stay where he stood. But before he could begin arguing with himself, his legs had already started running back after her.

"I've got to go now mister," the little girl smiled at him. "It's getting late, and I wouldn't want to be caught." She zipped up her bag and slipped it on. "It was nice meeting you mister," she smiled, offering her hand. Her smile innocent. "Hopefully we'll see each other again," she said cheerfully, her eyes lighting up before she walked past Mika. She waved at him one last time before opening the door and stepping into the cold, freezing air of winter in London. (Cont.).

But! Mika thought he should at least do one more good gesture. When the girl was just about to leave walking out of the coffee shop, he quickly got up and asked her "would you like me to take you somewhere safe? like a police station?" the little girl gave Mika her immediate attetion, thinking, "does this man really care? or is he just being nice, because he knows i have no where to go."--"no thanks, Mister. im doing just fine." she faked a smile and continued out. But Mika ran after her.“Hey wait-!” Mika said over panting quickly. He thought for a moment if he appeared unpleasant now, maybe he was being too pushy. Or perhaps the girl really did have a secret, something painful - like being a runaway. It daunted him, to think that could happen to children. He smiled awkwardly at her, trying to keep a friendly image. He didn’t want her to fear him.
